HabitNow for iOS: availability and an iPhone alternative
HabitNow’s official app is on Android. Here is what an iPhone switch to miniHabits does—and does not—replace.
Is HabitNow available on iOS?
As of September 4, 2026, we could not find an official iPhone edition of HabitNow by HabitNow Apps. Its verified listing is on Google Play. A similarly named Habit Now: Act Now on the App Store names a different developer. Do not assume that it is the same product or that your purchase transfers.
miniHabits is an iPhone alternative, not an iOS version of HabitNow. It has a separate purchase and no HabitNow data importer.
What HabitNow offers
HabitNow combines habits and one-off tasks. Its Android listing describes daily, weekly and monthly goals, reminders, widgets, charts, notes and several timer types. Those are practical reasons to keep it if Android is still your main phone. Source: HabitNow’s official listing.
miniHabits does not replace that whole toolkit. It focuses on recording habits and keeping an imperfect streak legible. If you rely on a reminder to start, a widget to log, or a monthly goal, those gaps matter more than a new theme.
miniHabits today
miniHabits is a paid iPhone habit tracker for iOS 17 and later. It has four tracking modes: checkbox, counter, timer and quantity. Schedules can be daily, selected weekdays or a number of times per week. Its heatmap shows 26 weeks.
Streak shields bank on satisfied days and are spent automatically on a missed day when available. A protected day stays visible in the history; it is not recorded as a completed habit. Break mode pauses judgement for all habits without spending shields.
Your device’s iCloud account is required for backup and sync. There is no free tier or free trial. After onboarding, a purchase or restore is required to enter the tracker. The two plans are an auto-renewing yearly subscription and a one-time lifetime purchase. EUR reference prices are 25 € per year and 34,99 € lifetime. Your App Store checkout shows the local price and currency.
miniHabits does not currently offer Android, web or Apple Watch apps, widgets, Live Activities, Apple Health integration, notification reminders, or CSV/JSON import and export. Switching means recreating habits manually, not transferring an existing history.
What changes when you switch?
| Your current need | What to expect in miniHabits |
|---|---|
| Habits beside one-off tasks | A habit tracker, not a general task manager |
| A daily or weekly habit schedule | Daily, selected weekdays or times per week |
| Monthly or every-other-week scheduling | Not supported |
| Logging from a widget or a reminder | Open the app; neither feature is currently included |
| A visible record after a missed day | Shields can protect the chain when available |
| Bringing your Android history with you | No automatic transfer |
The choice is not “the same app on a different phone.” Before paying, write down the two or three HabitNow features you actually use. Check them against these limits.
Can I import a HabitNow backup?
No. miniHabits cannot read HabitNow backups, CSV or JSON. Keep the original app and any backup as your archive. Recreate a small set of habits manually if you switch. Do not delete your old history expecting a later import.
A HabitNow purchase does not unlock miniHabits. Downloading miniHabits is free, but entering the tracker requires its annual or lifetime purchase.
Which should you choose?
Stay with HabitNow if you use Android and its tasks, reminders or widgets are central to your routine. Choose miniHabits only if you use an iPhone, accept the iCloud account and paid access, and want its four tracking modes and streak shields.
If your requirement is a free, open-source Android tracker, see the Loop comparison. If you need deadline-based goals, see Strides.
